Frequently Asked Questions
How does a visitor find my mobile site?
When a mobile visitor (using a smart phone) arrives at your existing full website they will be automatically redirected to your new mobile website. To accomplish this we will provide you a code snippet to be placed on your existing website.
Does that code snippet you provide need to go on every page of my existing full website?
Yes. If you have a shared header, menu, or footer file you can put the code in that file and you're done. Otherwise the code will need to go on each page that visitors generally arrive on.
Does that code you provide automatically redirect the visitor or do they need to click something?
It automatically redirects the visitor.
Do visitors need to download anything to view the mobile site?
Absolutely not.
My new mobile website is something like xyz.instantlymobile.com, can I keep visitors on my site instead?
Yes and no. For the mobile site to function it must send the visitor to the Instantly Mobile website. However, you can setup an address on your website for this so it works like an alias. For example if your existing full site is www.my-site.com then you could use mobile.my-site.com for your new mobile site. We provide you a wizard for doing this.
How do I market my new InstantlyMobile Site?
The primary place to market your mobile web site is by cutting and pasting our InstantlyMobile code on your existing "corporate" web site. When people visit your web site on a mobile device, they will be automatically directed to the mobile version of your web site.
Another way to promote your mobile web site is to list it on other marketing outlets. For example: All of the above marketing outlets are free to use.
Over time, Google will "index" your mobile web site, so that your link comes up in the search engine results. This may take 6-8 weeks if you are waiting for free traffic. You can speed this process up by paying for advertising with Google, and you can even target mobile users directly.
Finally, include a link to your mobile web site in all emails that you send out. A good place to put this is in your contact information, near your phone number and/or address.
Doing some or all of these steps will guarantee that you will receive mobile visitors!
